Moodle literally means Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment.

It is a tool aimed at managing and creating on-line courses and webpages. Or, as the creators say, a software packet to create Internet-based courses and websites. Moodle is a web application compatible with any platform that supports PHP, and with multiple types of databases (above all MySQL and PostgreSQL).

If you have any doubts about the Moodle system, don't worry. There is a lot of documentation and help available on their website, organized according to who will use it: teachers, administrators, developers or general users. Also on the website you can download the translation file for Moodle and decompress it in the ´moodle/lang´ directory.
